Works perfectly!
A potential enhancement for the future might be the ability to modify the display text of links, possibly through a right-click context menu option. However, the existing method of creating a text field, choosing the display text, and then inserting the link, works just fine for me.
Thank you!

Remi: Glad to hear that Remi!
Good news, this is hopefully just the start of some our Canvas link improvements. We also have some improvements to how we create/edit links in the works and will be bringing that edit functionality (that you are familiar with from the Document side) to the Canvas as well.

complete
This has been completed. Try pasting any link to the canvas. Specifically, header links from the Document also work.

100% NEED. I've got my entire org onto eraser (by just refusing to write google docs lol). but, this is becoming quite a blocker for me. i like to separate context about a problem/domain from actionable requirements in my specs. and then i just reference my explanations in those requirements. being able to link to specific sections of a doc (or even just headers to begin with) would go a long way. thanks!!

Shreyas Kadaba: Agree, this could be a game changer

Merged in a post:
Link to a specific part of a note file within a given eraser file
Christopher Sahadeo
It is currently possible to link to an entire eraser file from the notes file of another eraser file.
But it doesn't seem possible to link to a specific part of a note within an eraser file.
It would be super useful if you can implement this in the same way google does has: i.e. each heading has it's own unique URL AND you can add bookmarks to specific lines / highlighted text within the notes file.

Would also be great if there is an option to show the text on the canvas - similar to figure embeds in the Notes section where there is option to show a link or to show the figure

Hi Christopher, yes, this makes a lot of sense. Where were you looking to paste the link? In the notes, canvas, or outside of Eraser?
Christopher Sahadeo
Shin Kim: Hey Shin (I typed this response on my phone days ago but then realized it didn't send X( )
TL;DR: I'd like to paste the link anywhere :)
TS;WM: (expected behavior)
In eraser notes &/ canvas
If I paste the link over text in eraser and the user clicks on said text, then I'd expect the focus to jump to the part of the note that the link points to (the eraser cursor should land on this specific part).
outside of eraser
If I paste the link outside of eraser, and the user clicks on the link, then the the browser should start to load the eraser document (if the user has access to it) and the focus to jump to the part of the note that the link points to (the eraser cursor should land on this specific part).

Christopher Sahadeo: Thank you for this. Yes, that's exactly how we'd think about it too :)

Thank you for the input George! We already allow users to refer to canvas items from the note editor so it makes a ton of sense to allow the reverse direction.
This is something we hope to get on the roadmap soon!
